Useful information for guests
If you’re coming to Bibury Camping you’ll find this information useful. We aim to keep things as simple, unfussy and natural as possible whilst providing basic but good quality facilities. This information should be read in conjunction with the GCC site rules.
PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT ACCEPT DOGS OR HAVE ELECTRIC HOOK-UP ON THE PITCHES. WE ARE ALSO NOT A ‘PARK’ WITH HARDSTANDING AND BUILDINGS.
1. First up, if you have any problems or questions feel free to email us at biburycamping@gmail.com or phone us on 07846 041753. We want everything to work for you and are on hand to ensure you're happy campers.
2. Please arrive after 1pm and leave before 11am. If you’re going to arrive after 7pm please let us know. We lock the gate overnight (see 6 below).
3. We aim to see everyone on the day of arrival - but please call or email if you'd like to arrange to meet so we can talk you through things (though the info here should be sufficient).
4. Pitches are designated by stones that may be used to circle a campfire. However, you may camp elsewhere as long as you leave a good distance between you and other guests (we recommend 6m spaces between tents/vans). You may also build a campfire elsewhere too. We sell firewood - please ask when you see us or call us on the mobile number above. Firewood is also usually available from the trout farm in the village.
5. Please take special care with campfires and how you dispose of cigarettes and matches when the grass is dry. Do not permit burning, hot or smouldering items to fall on the ground. With respect to campfires at all times please ensure you (a) circle it with stones and remove any grass from the immediate area, (b) monitor it at all times, (c) keep a bucket of water next to it (we can provide the bucket and there’s a standpipe in the facilities area), and fully extinguish it before you go to bed or leave your pitch.
6. If you arrive by car we recommend you park on your pitch. The speed limit is 5 mph. Please take great care with pedestrians who always have priority. The entrance gate is locked between about 7pm and 9am. If you need to use it during these hours the combination code of the lock is 1066. Please lock the gate after you.
7. We aim to be a quiet and peaceful campsite so ask you to keep the noise down, especially after 9pm.
8. Toilets and showers are in the horsebox, two of each, front and back. They are healthily well-ventilated! You can wash your hands at the sink located on the side of the box, where we have provided hand-wash. One shower is accessible via the side ramp and one is entered via the 'jockey' door on the other side.
9. Please leave loos as you’d like to find them - you’ll find a brush beside each.
10. Recycling bins are near the entrance.
11. Water from all taps is drinkable - it’s spring water from an aquifer deep beneath the wolds. There's a double sink with hot water next to the shed in the facilities area.
12. The best way to the village is to take the footpath next to the farm entrance - on your immediate left as you walk out on to the road.
13. Please don't wander around the farm outside the camping paddock. We're a working sheep farm and are not set up to accommodate the public outside the campsite area.
That’s it! But please do drop us a line if you have any queries.
