We’re on farmland bordered by woods at the edge of the village
“The most beautiful village in England” - William Morris
Bibury is a famously picturesque village in the heart of the Cotswolds. Our campsite has views across the Coln Valley, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site is on farmland, a short walk from the heart of the village along peaceful footpaths.
You can watch a couple of great films about our campsite made by camping YouTubers here and here.
Campsite features and facilities
The site is spacious - around four acres for just ten pitches - and sits on pasture edged by woodland. We welcome tents, campervans, motorhomes and caravans and are happy for you to make a campfire (you will find stone ‘grates’ around the site). We sell firewood - please ask when you see us or contact us via the mobile number on this site.
We have converted a horse box into two toilets with flushing loos and two hot water shower cubicles. It has step-free access. On the area of hard-standing there are also electricity points and open-air stainless steel sinks with worktop. We have a hay store that is available in the camping season as a shelter and there are picnic tables dotted around the site. Finally, there are recycling facilities near the entrance.
As we are a working sheep farm we’re afraid we’re unable to welcome dogs. We also do not offer electric hook-up in the campsite field.
Bibury Camping is affiliated to the Greener Camping Club, a network of premium quality campsites offering outstanding, environmentally-friendly camping in truly beautiful settings. Membership of the Club is £12 per year and you can join when you book.
Bibury village
William Morris - writer, designer, maker and a leading light of the Arts and Crafts movement - called Bibury ‘the most beautiful village in England’. Arlington Row, with its 17th century weavers’ cottages, is internationally famous — even appearing in British passports. The Rack Isle, once used for drying cloth, is a National Trust site.
Life in the village
Bibury is a thriving community: the village has a lively pub, The Catherine Wheel, with good food and an orchard pub garden. The Twig serves hot drinks and baked and deli goods. The Swan Hotel Bar & Brasserie offers modern British cuisine. At the Bibury Trout Farm you can catch your own fish, eat in the cafe, let the children play, or buy ready-prepared trout and essential supplies such as bread, milk and wine - we sell firewood but they usually have some too.
